Abigaile Mia J. Hila is a Senior Science Research Specialist at the Entomology Unit, Agriculture Research Section, Atomic Research Division, Department of Science and Technology – Philippine Nuclear Research Institute (DOST-PNRI). She has been working in PNRI since November 2013. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Major in Entomology and Master’s degree in Entomology, from the University of the Philippines Los Baños. Currently, she is pursuing her PhD in Biology at the De La Salle University Manila, under DOST- Human Resource Development Program (HRDP) scholarship. She has been involved in projects related to dengue mosquitoes and radiation entomology. Currently, she is the National Project Coordinator of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) regional Technical Cooperation project titled “Enhancing the Capacity and the Utilization of the Sterile Insect Technique for Aedes Mosquito Control”. Ms. Hila has published several journal articles on entomology and gamma irradiation studies, and has peer-reviewed articles for various national and international journals. Currently, she lends her expertise as a section editor for the Journal of Agricultural Research, Development, Extension, and Technology (JARDET) of the University of Southern Mindanao, Philippines.
